The local church organizes a community football tournament aimed at community development

The Siyajabula of Noordwyk (we are happy) Soccer Freestylers have won the Reach Out South Africa Soccer Tournament organized by Christ Embassy Midrand Grand Central Church.

The Top 4 tournament was held at Midrand High School on November 5.

Speaking on behalf of the church, Teboho Chesane said the purpose of the tournament was to uplift the community and encourage sportsmanship.

“It was also to help and assist the physical, mental and spiritual development of the players, and expose the players to different opportunities and encourage them to focus firmly on their dreams and work hard to achieve them,” Chesane said.

Spartans FC booked their place in the final after a 2-0 victory over Daveyton’s Juckers FC and the Freestylers beat Golden Warriors 3-2 in a five-goal thriller to set up an interesting Midrand derby final.

The Freestylers went on to claim the title with a 3-0 thrashing of the Spartans.
Freestylers coach Lunga ‘Tata’ Ndzotyana said: “We had a full squad today and the combinations between the players are still there, that’s how we won this tournament. We hope this victory will motivate the players and instill a winning mentality as we want them to be ambitious.
