Rogers Recognized for Achievements in the Automotive Industry and Community Service
Bob Rogers, president of Bob Rogers Chevrolet in Paris, has been nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year 2022 award. He is part of a select group of 47 nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 105th annual car show. National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) in Las Vegas on March 11.
The Dealer of the Year award recipients are some of the nation’s most successful auto dealerships and also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service. Rogers was chosen to represent the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association in the national competition.
“Over the years, we have developed a great relationship with the people in our community,” said Rogers. “I believe my success has come from my faith, strong family ties, and my honest and fair dealings with my clients.”
Rogers attended the lycée in Paris. At a young age, he started working at his family’s gas station and recycling yard. He bought his father’s salvage business in 1950 and ran it until he and his wife, Kitty, acquired their current franchise in 1967.
He shared his in-depth industry knowledge and advocated for other auto dealers while serving on the board of directors of the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association.
For decades, Rogers served on the board of directors of Community Outreach Services, which provides food assistance and pays utility bills for those in need. He supports the Boys & Girls Club of Paris and provided a new vehicle for a hole-in-one prize during the group’s annual golf tournament and fundraiser. He is active at the First Assembly of God Church in Paris, where he was a deacon for 25 years, a Sunday school teacher and a member of the finance committee.
He was a member of the Rotary Club of Paris, the Sapeurs-Pompiers de Paris, the Kiwanis Club of Paris and Gideons International. Recently he received the Golden Harvest Award for his significant contributions to Logan County.
Rogers has a son, Van, who is the general manager of Bob Rogers Chevrolet; one daughter, Malenda; and five grandchildren.
