The lawmaker said women were essential stakeholders in community development and urged them not to stand back but to strive to complement government efforts in the development of society.
While congratulating the women on the success of their August meeting, Onuigbo said he would continue to help women do their best for the development of their communities.
Onuigbo, from Obuohia-Ibere, congratulated the women for their contribution to the development of the community.
“When women join hands to contribute to the education of their children, when these children become useful to themselves and their families, by extension, they also become useful to society.
“Therefore, their position is essential and we must always support them to carry out their task,” he said.
Earlier in her remarks, Ms. Chinyere Sam-Onuigbo, the group’s national president, praised women for their decades of verifiable achievement in all facets of human endeavor.
She said the only way for communities and the world to move forward is for women to be fully involved in all aspects of life.
Recall that the highlight of the event was the presentation of awards for meritorious service to certain sons and daughters of Obuohia, including the representative Onuigbo.
