Erin Morris, responsible for planning and enforcing the Napa code, has been named the new director of community development for Vacaville, city officials said in a press release on Tuesday. She will take up her post on Monday.

Morris holds a bachelor’s degree from Sonoma State University and has also completed master’s classes at San Jose State University, according to the press release. She began her career as a town planner in San Mateo County and has also held town planner and senior town planner positions in the cities of San Jose and Santa Rosa, the latter also responsible for the management of the city. city ââwhere she oversaw many city projects. . Morris has been in his current position at Napa for four years.

Morris takes the reins from Fred Buderi, who retired as interim director of community development last month. Buderi, who was previously a town planner, was promoted to acting director in 2020 following the sacking of Barton Brierley.
Morris will oversee a department of 17 full-time and two part-time employees on planning and zoning matters as well as building permits and inspections. She will make presentations to the Vacaville municipal council and the town planning commission on these subjects and will also answer questions from members of council and commissioners as well as members of the public.
