OPCD supports thriving communities through an equitable approach to planning and community investment. We work with communities to ensure Seattle develops in a coordinated way and reflects their interests. We work with all municipal departments to assess community needs and
prioritize resources.

OPCD is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The fields of urban planning and community development have often failed to reflect the experiences and identities of those affected by development decisions and outcomes, including Black and Indigenous peoples,
people of color, immigrants and refugees, people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ people. We strongly encourage people with these identities or from other marginalized communities to apply.
