Jessica Garner to serve as Director of Community Development for the Town of Estes Park – Estes Park Trail-Gazette
Jessica Garner will take office as Estes Park’s new director of community development on Monday, July 26. City administrator Travis Machalek said: the communities she served. Garner will be responsible for overseeing the Community Development Department, working alongside current Director Randy Hunt until his retirement date October 1, 2021. The Community Development Department provides planning, zoning, code compliance and building for the community.
Garner commented, âI am truly thrilled to join the Town of Estes Park as the new Director of Community Development, and look forward to working collaboratively with the community, staff and city leaders for a future. healthy and vibrant.
Garner holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning as well as a master’s degree in urban design from the University of Colorado at Denver. She also holds a certificate in historic preservation and is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners. She has over 19 years of experience in planning and development services in the public and private sectors. Garner’s career experience includes work in Colorado as well as California, where she served as Planning Director for the City of Milpitas.
While she was Planning Director for the Town of Milpitas, Garner was responsible for the administration of the Town Planning Department and its ten employees. His work included community partnerships to create the city’s 2040 master plan, comparable to Estes Park’s comprehensive plan effort.
