Community service is a theme of 4-Her sharing their talents with the community. On August 8, 2022, the North Butler 4-H Club gathered at Wheat State Manor Nursing Home to share the 4-H projects that were entered into the 2022 Butler County Fair. The 4-Her’s showcase the livestock and static entries.

The club members then took the time to relax together and met at the Emmaus church for a pizza dinner.

After everyone was done eating, Harley Mc-Laughlin called the club’s monthly meeting to order. Rustin McLaughlin and Paige Goebel led the 4-H Pledge and Flag Salute. Caleb Klingenberg presented the Treasurer’s report. A thank you card was given to Rural Electric. Reminder to club members about club leadership opportunities and next month is the election of the leader, every 4-Her has been asked to start thinking about what role you would like to play!

4-H members are grateful for the community support of the Fair Livestock Sale and it has been announced that if 4-Her has an animal in the Butler County Livestock Sale, Buyer Cards should be collected and have them sign. In addition, it is requested to thank buyers and ideas by presenting them with a nice card and a gift.

Community Leader Debora invited all visiting families to visit the North Butler 4-H Club. She also mentioned, it’s time for the record books! The club sang “Happy Birthday” to Lucy!

The voices of the participants followed Hope McLaughlin as she led the song Down by the Bay, while the club repeated it after her.

Ella Amend demonstrated “How to Make a Fork Flower”, she showed the club an easy DIY if you’re bored. She had a fork and demonstrated how to weave the yarn between the pliers, producing a flower.

Finally, the 4-Her enjoyed recreation, led by Rustin McLaughlin with the game’s color tag.
