ALVERDA – The Christian Church in Alverda will meet for worship from 9:50 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. on Sunday.

Join our congregation as we reflect on the days that have brought us to the close of this year. Happy times are remembered and future events are planned for the spiritual benefit of the congregation.

BLAIRSVILLE – The United Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Walnut St., will be holding in-house and online worship at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Sunday will be a service of lessons and Christmas carols.

Calvary Presbyterian Church, 695 School St., Indiana, invites everyone to join the Sunday worship service at 11 a.m.

Pastor David Hanna will deliver the sermon titled “What Child Is This?” »The crèche is available from 10 am to 12 noon.

Christ Episcopal Church, 902 Philadelphia St., will hold Holy Communion Sundays at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

The Presbyterian Church of Crete, 25 Brady Road, Indiana, will meet for worship with Elders Vonnie Roser and Gerry Gamble at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The scripture is Isaiah 42: 1-9, and the sermon is titled “In Closing. “

HOMER CITY – The United Methodist Church in Homer City will be holding an adult Sunday school at 8:30 a.m. and a service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

This week’s sermon, “Good News of a Great JOY: The Fifth Pillar of Joy – Forgiveness,” is based on Colossians 3: 12-17.

HOMER CITY – The Homer City United Presbyterian Church, located at 40 E. Elm Street, has services at 11 a.m. on Sundays.

INDIANA – Grace United Methodist Church, 50 S. 7th St., will be holding services at 9 and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Pastor Bill Blair’s message for both services is “Making Christmas Last,” with the scriptures from Matthew 2: 13-23.

The worship music from the contemporary 11am service will be conducted by Pastor Will Pinos: “Good Grace”, “The Goodness of God”, “O Holy Night” and “Joy to the World”.

On Sunday January 2, Pastor Will Pinos will speak about the Good Shepherd, and then Pastor Kathy Mihoerck will install Grace Church’s new 2022 leaders.

On January 9, Pastor Bill Blair begins a new series of sermons that will address wellness in all areas of our lives.

The children’s church is available during services and the crèche is open all morning. There is a Sunday school for children, youth and adults between services at 10:10 a.m.

MARION CENTER – The first United Methodist Church at the Marion Center will hold a service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Join us for a Christmas carol and lesson service as we continue to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus. We will read the Christmas story in several lessons and sing some of our favorite Christmas carols throughout the service.

SHELOCTA – The Shelocta Presbyterian Community Church, 182 S. Ridge Road, invites everyone to join the Sunday worship service at 10 a.m.

Sunday’s post will focus on Reflections on Christmas Carols.

Members of Calvary Bible Church invite the community to their Sunday services.

Worship is at 11 a.m. Pastor John Traxler will bring the “Looking Ahead” message.

Sunday school takes place at 10 a.m., with a biblical focus on Joshua 10: 1-12: 24. There will be a prayer meeting and Bible study at 6:00 pm with the message “God’s Refining Process”.

Orthodox Christmas services

Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, three miles west of Clymer off Highway 286, will be hosting the following Nativity (Christmas) services: Carols and Vigil Service, at 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 6 , the eve of the Nativity (Christmas); and the divine liturgy, 10:30 a.m. on Friday January 7, Christmas Day – Nativity of Christ.

PENN RUN – The Penn Run Brothers Church will be offering a pasta buffet from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 8 at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center.
