Collections planned for Billerica Community Pantry

BILLERICA – The Billerica Community Pantry is working with the community to help families in need this holiday season.

Various groups within Billerica are working together to collect the items needed for a Thanksgiving dinner. There are two drive-through drop-off points as well as three other places in town to donate.

Billerica’s recycling coordinator is hosting a collection on Saturday, November 7, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 18 Andover Road. The goal is to collect 250 boxes of cranberry sauce, canned corn and pudding mixes.

Billerica Partners for Education are hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, November 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, using a Genius Enrollment link to coordinate donations. The link is

Many religious communities in the city work together to collect different items. Contact the Catholic community, the First Congregational Church, the First Parish, North Billerica Baptist and St. Anne for the specific items they collect and when. They hope to get 250 of baking powder, baking soda, cookie mixes, baking mixes, Jell-O pouches, canned green beans, jarred pearl onions, fried onions, toppings. for canned pies and pie crust mixes.
