Collecting food and toys for the West Suburbs Community Food Pantry
NAPERVILLE, IL – As the winter holiday season approaches, Naperville Sunrise Rotary will host a holiday food and toy drive on November 12 to benefit the West Suburban Community Pantry.
“We’re all caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays. It’s easy to forget about the children, families and invisible seniors who struggle every day and are now facing a tough holiday season,” said Deb Newman , President of Public Relations for Naperville Sunrise. Rotary said in a press release.
Newman added, “Sunrise Rotary is dedicated to helping children and families thrive in our community. This is a great opportunity to brighten up our neighbors’ vacation a little.”
The donation drive will take place November 12 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in front of the Naperville Country Club, 25W570 Chicago Ave. The following items are wanted to benefit the families of Naperville, Woodridge, Lisle, Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Westmont and Willowbrook:
- New unboxed toys
- New unboxed books
- Baby diapers and wipes
- Canned potatoes
- stuffing mix
- canned sauce
- Cranberry sauce
- canned vegetables
- Pumpkin pie
- Dessert mixes
Donors are encouraged to wear a face mask and come to the front of the Country Club, where masked volunteers will retrieve items from cars or pick them up from the sidewalk. Alternatively, donations can be made Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Suburban Community Pantry, 6809 Hobson Valley Dr., Woodridge.
