Bella Vista Community Church Welcomes Acting Pastor

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., welcomes Acting Pastor Gary Crandall and his wife Sherrie Crandall. Gary and Sherrie have been in the ministry for 42 years, and this is his fourth “intentional acting” position. They are thrilled with the opportunity to serve BVCC and look forward to what God will do during their time at BVCC.

Gary and Sherrie were in love with high school in North Carolina and will be married 52 years old on June 13. They were both born again in 1975 while Gary was stationed in the military in Germany. They have three children who live in California, North Carolina and Sicily, and they have eight grandchildren. Their home port is Mountain Home.

Gary is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Grace Theological Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary. He is also the author of four books. The most recent, “True Discipleship,” was published in 2018. Both have taught at a Bible college in Guam and have also served as missionaries in Africa.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts Sunday morning services at 8:30 a.m. (traditional) and 10:45 a.m. (mixed). Sunday school and Bible classes for adults take place at 9.45 am Social distancing is practiced. There will be only one service on Sunday morning on May 30 at 9:30 a.m.

Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on KURM-FM (100.3) and KURM-AM (790) radios

The “Sonday Riders” will meet at 2pm on June 20 in the front parking lot. All two, three and four wheel riders are welcome for a scenic and leisurely ride that ends in a restaurant where the group has time to share and share.

The choir meets on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Prayer shawl makers meet at 12:30 p.m. on June 16.

A free summer vacation Bible school program is scheduled for June 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A meal will be offered at 5:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 NE J St., operates the FPC Food Pantry as a drive-thru Saturday 9-11 a.m. Please bring something (utility bill, etc.) that shows you are a resident of Benton County, and the church is happy to serve you.

Worship is at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, with worship service online via Facebook and YouTube. Distancing and masks are mandatory for in-person worship.

The Evangelical Lutheran Good Shepherd Church in Rogers, 2305 S. Dixieland Road, holds worship every Sunday at 10 am. Reverend Randy Moll is a pastor. The 8:30 a.m. Bible study precedes church and online service on Google Meet.

The Second Saturday Bible Study for Women takes place today at 10 a.m. at church. The church council will meet on June 15 at 7 p.m. at the church. Midweek Bible Study takes place at 7 p.m. every Wednesday on Google Meet.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., is now completely open to everyone. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. in the stock exchange room. The religious service starts at 10:30 a.m.

Benton County Unitarian Universalists, 1400 W. Walnut, # 113, Rogers meet in person for a Sunday gathering this Sunday. We will share our paths to Unitarian universalism and say goodbye to our home in the Rogers neighborhood. Bella Vista United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, is hosting the Village International Food Festival this summer, with Jamaican cuisine presented on July 10. On the menu, cooked chicken, rice and peas, fried sweet bread and tangerine cake. Pickup is available between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and plates are $ 12 each. Orders will be taken until July 6. Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd., offers a Sunday school for all ages at 9 a.m. with live worship at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. Worship in the sanctuary is, as always, the optional mask. The Oasis Center (video room) is intended for those who prefer a frame with compulsory mask. Springdale’s First Presbyterian Church, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, offers Sunday worship services, in person and live, starting at 10:30 am. Online worship services are available on YouTube and on the church’s website at The transitional pastor, the Reverend Dr. Ronnie Prevost, will lead the service.

The church is looking for an installed pastor. The pastor appointments committee meets with the liaison officers of the presbytery committee on ministry. Liaisons will guide the nominating committee and the congregation through the process of spiritual discernment involved in pastoral research.

For those who are fully immunized, masks are no longer required for in-person services. Those who are not vaccinated against covid-19 are strongly encouraged to wear masks and maintain distancing protocols.

The PFC youth are planning a weeklong mission trip to Camp Ferncliff near Little Rock. They will serve in the Disaster Assistance Center and on the farm and complete a signature project that contributes to the long-term upkeep of Ferncliff.
